How You Can Help

There are at least 3 ways you can support BCC:

1. Contacting us if you come into contact with a homeless person in need
2. Volunteering for the program
3. Providing financial or material support for the program

Contacting Us
Boulder County Cares operates during the winter (October 1 through April 30) from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

If you see a homeless person in need during these hours, please call us on our cell phone at (303) 468-4328. We can usually respond within ten minutes and provide assistance.

In addition to life-saving supplies, BCC can transport homeless persons to safety, whether that means the county's detox facility, homeless shelter, emergency room, or even a friend's couch.

We never force our services upon anyone. Please do not hesitate to call us!

Volunteering
Boulder County Cares is a volunteer-driven program. Without the dedication of over three dozen of Boulder's citizens, the program could not operate. Most BCC volunteers return season after season. They find the work they do for BCC rewarding and enriching to their lives.

Volunteers for BCC have also played a key role in increasing community awareness of the issues homeless people face in affluent Boulder County.

If you would like to volunteer for BCC, either as a weekly outreach worker or in an administrative capacity, please contact Taryn Hutchins-Cabibi, BCC Coordinator, at (303) 468-4328 or email BCC.

For more information on volunteering for BCC, please go to "volunteering link."

Financial and Material Support
Boulder County Cares operates well on a shoestring budget, thanks to the generosity of our community. Although the program receives some city funding, its primary source of funding is from gifts provided by generous citizens of Boulder County.

All contributions to BCC are tax deductible. If you would like to make a financial contribution to BCC, please send your check or money order to:

Boulder County Cares
4869 North Broadway
Boulder, CO 80304

If you would rather supply material support to the program, the following are items most needed by Boulder's street population:

Sleeping bags
Blankets
Socks
Tarps
Pre-packaged food (e.g., cup o'soups)
Hats
Gloves
Winter clothing (including jackets, sweaters, long underwear, etc)
Tents

Please send or drop off all donations to the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless at 4869 Broadway (just North of the intersection of Lee Hill and Broadway). So that your gift may end up with Boulder County Cares, please boldly label all packages with the letters "BCC." For more information, please call BCC Coordinator Taryn Hutchins-Cabibi at (303) 468-4328.
